Guidebook of the Year The Rough Guide to Japan The purpose of this site is not only to introduce the guide books I have written or co-authored, but also to provide a forum for discussion about Japan, Vietnam and the Dordogne & Lot. Please feel free to post your questions (travel-related or otherwise), provide tips for fellow-travellers and join in the discussions. In the Update sections you'll find a digest of new information about each destination in preparation for the next edition of the guide. Again, additional comments and contributions will be gratefully received - and duly acknowledged in the book.
Finally, there's an annotated lists of links for each destination, which I hope will provide a useful jumping-off point for exploring their parallel, virtual worlds.
