- Maison de la France - a great place to start browsing. Run by the French Government Tourist Office in the US, it's well organised, up to date and full of practical info and cultural tips.

- Globalfest.com - comprehensive database containing over 5000 festivals, fairs and markets in France. Organised by date, region and category.
- France for Visitors - About.com's France portal provides some good links and useful practical information for first-time visitors.
- Périgord Virtual Guide - a broad-brush introduction to the Dordogne department with sections on history, sights, food, events, accommodation, restaurants and leisure. Interactive maps and some useful links.
- Via France - search engine covering over 1000 events in France.

- Bordeaux Office du Tourisme - nice, simple site offering practical info (events, hotels, restaurants, wine tours) and brief background pieces.
